  • Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA) is hosting a Virtual Industry Outreach Symposium on October 13 and 20, 2021. DHRA welcomes small business vendors and other industry partners to participate in this annual event and learn about organizational updates, mission and programs overview, and the latest on upcoming acquisitions. DHRA is a multi-faceted organization with a broad mission-set supporting defense civilians, service members and their families, reservists and veterans.   • National Institute of Health Small business concerns are cordially invited to participate in the webinars outlined below. October Newbie Open Forum Webinar October 29, 2020, 11am-12pm EST This forum will provide a space for vendors (without prime past performance) to interact with the NIH SBPO, learn about the NIH’s contracting infrastructure, and network with attendees. This event is free of charge and will substitute for the SBPO’s October 1-on-1 consultations. Registration will close once 250 individuals register. Space is limited.   • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Small Business Program To ensure the FAA maintains effective communications with small businesses and increases contracting opportunities, the FAA is in the process of reviewing its small business program and associated policies, processes and communication methodologies for improvement. As part of this initiative, the FAA is seeking feedback from industry on how the FAA can improve its Small Business Program. The FAA’s Small Business Program Office also plans to conduct one-on-one meetings with interested small business vendors, trade associations, and chambers of commerce to collect feedback on how the FAA can improve its small business program. Requests for setting up vendor feedback sessions with the FAA Small Business Program office should be submitted by September 30, 2021, to 9-FAA-SBO@faa.gov.

Save the date! The SBA will host an online panel discussion for Hispanic Heritage Month on October 14, 2021 at 12:00pm ET. Additional details including the registration link will be available soon. SBA Administrator Guzman, the fourth Latina Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the highest-ranking Latina serving in President Biden’s Cabinet, also released a statement to commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month.
